First Steps for a Photographer in AI

Here are some of the first Steps and advice from things that I have been working on in my AI Quest:

  Pick 1-2 focus areas based on what excites you.
  Start with hands-on courses (Fast.ai, Hugging Face, Runway ML).
  Work on one small AI project per week.
  Build a mini AI portfolio (even if just experiments).
  Consider AI freelance projects (Upwork, Fiverr, AI image processing gigs).

  Step 1: AI Fundamentals & Tools Setup (Week 1-2)

  Goal: Get comfortable with AI tools for photography and automation.

  Step 2: Hands-on AI Projects (Week 3-6)

  Goal: Start creating AI-driven photography projects.

  Project Ideas:

  • AI Photo Enhancement Service (using Topaz AI, Photoshop AI)
  • AI Video Style Transfer (Runway ML, Sora)
  • Automated AI Content Creation (AI blog images, short videos)
  • AI Portrait Retouching Workflow (get familiar with various AI phone apps)

  Monetization Tip: Upload AI-enhanced images to stock sites (Adobe Stock, Shutterstock).

  Step 3: Expand into AI Business & Automation (Week 7-10)

  Goal: Monetize AI skills and automate workflows.

  Action Steps:

  • Learn Prompt Engineering (LangChain, OpenAI API)
  • Experiment with AI-generated ads for brands
  • Offer AI-powered editing services (Upwork, Fiverr)
  • Create AI-driven branding packages (for photographers & creatives)

  Goal: Position yourself as an AI-powered creative professional.

  • Start networking with AI & creative professionals
